PPG Manor Hall Eggshell Paint and Primer in 1

PPG Manor Hall Interior Paint Review Past Just Add Paint: Lots and Lots of Crawly in a can…

PPG paints have been on our radar ever since we discovered the magic of SpeedHide ceiling paint several years ago. Nosotros were excited when a contempo customer requested her project be completed with PPG Estate Hall – although trying a new product for the get-go time can be tricky. Despite 10 + years of feel making united states extremely efficient in our arts and crafts, there is ALWAYS a learning curve. Paint can be thicker or thinner than what nosotros are used to,  or information technology tin can dry at a different charge per unit. It can have unlike levels of sheen (sometimes an eggshell is non really an eggshell), and tin can require different types of applicators to make it look peachy on the wall. PPG Manor Hall, however, exceeded all expectations and chop-chop put our nerves at ease.

The job at hand was a perfect testing ground. It had a few different types of surfaces to cover, and a handful of custom colors to piece of work with. As a fairly new home (1 year old), the homeowner had painted 2 rooms twice with semigloss before deciding to call in a professional for a "color change and neater chore" (cheers Angieslist.com for the reference!)  And then we had two bedrooms painted with a darker colour and more sheen that anyone could ever desire on the walls, and the rest of the house was sprayed with a very low grade builders apartment barley thick enough to encompass the drywall.  We besides had a mass amount of nail pops to fix and re-patch. This gave usa a full of 3 different surfaces to put the true coverage of this paint to the test on.

Nosotros loved Manor Hall from the first dip out of the can to the last roll on the wall. The paint was slightly thinker than the Sherwin Williams products we are accustomed to, simply information technology went on with ease. We were very impressed with the coverage over all of the surfaces. The castor and roller textures blended in as smooth equally butter, and the Manor Hall dried with a smooth, even finish. The eggshell sheen nosotros were working with looked exactly the way we were hoping. Rich plenty to reflect a slight amount of light to make the rooms look lively and vibrant, merely not so much to be distracting or dilate slight imperfections on the wall.

Looking good on the wall is of course only half the battle with paint. The other one-half comes Afterwards the paint is on the wall with it'due south adhesion, scrub ability/burnish resistance, and immovability. The hardness of this paint was axiomatic within 4 hours of applying it to the walls. Even over the builders course flat that soaked upwards well-nigh as much paint every bit blank drywall, the Manor Hall would not scratch off. We too took a swipe with a dry cloth, a wet cloth with a mild detergent (Krud Kutter), and a magic eraser earlier nosotros left (please don't try this at abode, magic erasers will wear the sheen off of even the most durable paints over fourth dimension.) The results were outstanding, equally none of these left any visible markings any. And since the paint is technically even so hardening for 2 weeks, we expect these bully qualities to simply better over time.

In a nutshell, nosotros were THRILLED with the results Manor Hall Interior Paint in Eggshell. We plan to add it to our daily arsenal of get-to products immediately. It was easy to work with, forgiving, looked great on the walls, and stale hard as a rock. The brighter colors looked equally well-baked and even as the neutrals, and the coverage was good enough that you would have a fighting take a chance of achieving the mythical "i coat coverage" (we would never recommend attempting this as professionals… but if y'all are in a hurry this is a great paint to try.)

Perhaps Near impressive with Estate Hall is information technology'due south power to touch upwards with minimal visibility. 1 of our main complaints with newer, VOC regulated paints is that sheen build with touch ups often makes them more visible than what you start with. NOT the case with Estate Hall, which makes it of peachy value to the professional painter and DIYer alike. Oh, and allow us not forget a very reasonable price point and lifetime warranty.  Try it, you'll like it!
