Farrow and Ball Light Blue in Benjamin Moore
Anyone who has been to my home knows that I have so many paint samples in my basement, I'm basically running an underground paint store. I'm a *little* obsessed with paint and finding the exact right shade. Our house has a few rooms that don't get a ton of natural light, so there is a fine line between bland and bold that I'm still refining.
Anyways, in my quest for perfect paint, one brand comes up over and over again: Farrow and Ball. They're British, they're chic AF, and their paint colors are perennial favorites of some of my favorite designers. They're also pretty pricey, and we don't have a local supplier here in Madison. My personal favorite paint that I can buy locally is Benjamin Moore. I like them for their extensive selection and pretty, muted colors, and because they put up with me being like, "It's warm white, but is it TOO warm white?". This week whilst obsessively looking for an exterior color for our house (...a post for another day...), I found this super sweet tool that converts paint colors among brands, and then I proceeded to spend 6,000 hours playing with it. Technically, you could just bring the Pantone color to your paint store and have them color match it, but where's the fun in that? Instead- I converted some of the most popular F&B colors into Benjamin Moore, so my obsession is your gain.
Without further ado, you can now pretend to be all moody British here in the USA.
F&B: Wimborne White
According to F&B, it's named after their hometown and is a warm white. Great as a backdrop for your casual piano in the middle of the room and vintage pinup girl posters.
Benjamin Moore Match: Mountain Peak White
Farrow and Ball: Mouse's Back
A sophisticated brown-gray with some green undertones. Also, these names kill me. According to F&B- "This grey brown classic takes its characterful name from the fawny colour of the British field mouse". Stahp it.
Benjamin Moore: Smoky Ash
Farrow and Ball: Lamp Room Gray
This is a perfect example of a color that I think is STUNNING and elegant and perfect and my husband says is "sad". Whatever, I love it.
Benjamin Moore: Sea Haze
Farrow and Ball: Card Room Green
This whole layout is perfection. Who owns a house this gorgeous and can pull off a leopard Fedora? Life's great questions.
Benjamin Moore: Carolina Gull
Farrow and Ball: Stone Blue
"This warm and timeless blue is named after the indigo pigment which was often imported in lumps in the 18th century." Of course it is.
Benjamin Moore: Hemlock
Farrow and Ball: Borrowed Light
Someday, when I decide to paint my navy living room another color, this is a strong contender.
Benjamin Moore: Mountain Mist
Farrow and Ball: Stiffkey Blue
I love me some drama, and this color definitely brings it.
Benjamin Moore: Newburyport Blue
Farrow and Ball: Down Pipe
I feel like this is a really good argument for painting your walls and trim the same color. I wish this was an Airbnb and I wish that I could go to there.
Benjamin Moore: Bracken Slate
And finally, my personal favorite name and color. I love it so much, I'll give you two different images-
Farrow and Ball: Elephant's Breath
It's a pinky gray and I'm obsessed with it. We've got one more bedroom that needs paint, and I think I may go this route. So pretty.
Benjamin Moore: Shale
